  1. “The monkey is a gazelle in the eyes of his mother.” ar. القرد في عين أمه غزال

🗣 “Alkird fi 3jn umuhu gazāl” – Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ❗

  1. “The clever girl would weave well even with a donkey’s leg (instead of the needle)” ar.
    كانت الفتاة الذكية تنسج حتى مع ساق حمار.

🗣 “kanat alfataat aldhakia tansaj hataa m3 saq himar” – This one means, one doesn’t need to have the best tools to do a great job; skillful people don’t need much stuff to accomplish or deliver a job.❗

  1. “After his hair grayed, he went back to school” ar. بعد ما شاب ودوه الكتّاب

🗣 “B3da ma shâb, wadda elkitab” – When someone’s hair has greyed (i.e reached mid-life) and tries to do something that’s more suited to young people, like going back to school or driving a Ferrari.✔

  1. “My hair’s gone white” ar. شاب راسي

🗣 “Sh3b râsī” – You say this to dramatize the effect a very stressful situation had on you. ❗

  1. “Whoever gets burned by soup, blows on yogurt.” ar. اللي يتلسع من الشوربة ينفخ في الزبادي

🗣 “Ally yatalas3 min alshuwrba yanfukh fi alzibadi” – Once bitten, twice shy. ❗
