Tabouli is a dish that originated in Lebanon, but has become world famous, like hummus, falafel and similar oriental dishes.
Tabbouleh is served in almost all oriental restaurants, and in the Middle East it is one of the most popular and frequently prepared salads.
Although the ingredients seem a bit incompatible, the taste of this wonderful salad will justify their combination.
Ingredients for 4 people:
- 1 cup Bungur (Couscous)
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 1 piece of tomato
- 1 piece of cucumber
- 1 piece of lemon olive oil
- olive oil
- Salt
Preparation:
Soak the bungur in a little lukewarm water to soften it.
Squeeze half a lemon, and leave the bungur for about an hour to absorb the water and swell.
In the meantime wash the parsley, dry it and chop it very, very, very finely.
Likewise, chop the tomato and cucumber very finely and mix it with the bungur.
If there is a little water left, drain it. Then, mix everything well.
Before serving, sprinkle with lemon and olive oil if desired.
